LOVE NESTS
All human beings need and have the right to dignified housing, a home where they can be safe, protected from the elements.
The Foundation ProVide launched the project Love Nests with the aim of providing a Habitability for the most vulnerable.
Love Nests will be built sustainably, in harmony with the Environment and with a lot of love, the strongest foundations of any good deed.

The goal of this campaign :
A home for José Joaquín and María Rosalba, a senior couple who have worked the earth all their lives, but due to the state of their health are now forced to retire. Without income, they have no way of paying rent, and although a very generous neighbour donated a small plot of land to them, they have no house. ProVide, through Love Nests, wishes to alleviate their need and build them a small Habitability, so Joaquín and Rosalba may live dignified in peace and security.

PROJECT: NESTS OF LOVE
PROVIDE INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION
Love Nests (Kærleikshreiður) is an initiative of the ProVide International Foundation, which seeks to transform lives through the construction of small, dignified, safe and sustainable (Habitabilities) homes for people and families in vulnerable situations in Latin America.

Each home has an area of 16 square meters, designed to offer the essentials: A space to sleep, cook, share and live with dignity.
The homes (Habitability) are for families facing extreme hardship: senior citizens, single mothers/fathers, people with disabilities, those with severe illness, and those who have lost their home.
Each Habitability marks the beginning of a new story.
With the support of donors and collaborators, we continue to expand this network of solidarity, joining hands to build a more humane and sustainable future.
What the Habitabilities are like
The habitabilities are simple and functional, and include:
• A sleeping area
• A kitchen and dining area
• A full bathroom with a shower and toilet
They are built with local and sustainable materials, such as cement, sand, and blocks produced locally, thus supporting the local economy and reducing environmental impact.

Furniture is not included in the Habitability.

Beneficiaries
We select individuals and families in the most vulnerable situations: senior citizens, single mothers, people with disabilities or illnesses, and those who have lost their homes.
Having a house, however small, changes lives, offering peace, dignity, and the possibility of a new beginning.
Ecological and Social Commitment
All materials are purchased from local businesses, much of it (cement, sand, gravel, blocks, wood) are produced within the community itself, and the house is built by skilled local labor. In this way, we combine social responsibility with respect for the environment.
